At the parish council meeting on 17 November, the budget for the next financial year was approved and can be viewed here Approved Budget 2026-27
After an estimated income of £600 has been taken into account, this will equate to a Precept of £14,905 being requested from Wiltshire Council. This is a 5.27% increase over the current year and takes into account various factors including statutory requirements on how our website operates, a possible increase to the number of hours your new Clerk will be working and the need to try to build slightly higher working reserves so that we are better equipped to deal with sudden unplanned expenditure.
Kilmington Parish Council is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Steven Willis who will take up his duties on 1 December 2025.
Steve, who lives in nearby Mere, has been working as Deputy Clerk for Wilton Town Council since April this year and will bring with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. We are very fortunate to have secured his agreement to become Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. As your departing Clerk, I am delighted to be able to pass the reins over to him and to know that the parish council’s affairs will be in safe hands.
Ruth Burrows – 11.11.25

I would like to remind residents and members of the public that you are all welcome to attend but please remember that this is a meeting of the Parish Council and not a public meeting. Time is allowed before the meeting starts for members of the public to voice their concerns and ask questions – three minutes is allocated to each person (I slipped up at our last meeting and said 3 and a half minutes and I’m not quite sure where that came from!) but the Chairman can use his discretion and this time limit can be extended. Once the meeting starts, members of the public should not speak or ask questions. Again, if you feel that there is something important you can add to the discussions, please raise your hand and the Chairman may or may not allow you to speak.
