Celebrating Age Wiltshire – Event at the Nadder Centre, Tisbury – Tuesday 12 December 1.30 – 3.30 pm

Celebrate Christmas with the Salisbury Big Band.

All pension age residents of Kilmington Parish are invited to attend this event at the Nadder Centre, Tisbury.

It is a free event but booking is required – please phone Karen Linaker on 01722 434697 (full details on attached notice link below)

A recent notice from Wiltshire Council indicates that repairs to Butts Lane will now take place between

29 November – 4 December 2023

REMEMBRANCE WEEKEND 2023 – STOURTON & KILMINGTON HOME GUARD CLUB

The Wiltshire Home Guard Living History group will be visiting the Home Guard Club on

SATURDAY 11th NOVEMBER 2023 AT 10.30 AM

in time to observe the two minutes silence at 11.00 am.

Free coffee, tea and cakes will be available for all members and residents of Kilmington from 10.00 am

The group will be giving a talk for around 30 minutes and there will be a display of Homeguard uniforms and memorabilia in the club house.

The bar will open from 12 noon and then it will remain open into the evening.

The Home Guard Club will be placing a Poppy Wreath at the Kilmington Memorial on Sunday 12 November at 11.00 am and all are welcome to be present for this.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MERE LINK SCHEME

In Wiltshire last year, the Link Schemes made 26,249 health related journeys and completed 34,125 good neighbour tasks which include collecting prescriptions and shopping.

New volunteers are desperately needed to keep this vital service in Wiltshire going.

Butts Lane – (Road Closure 23 October )

WILTSHIRE COUNCIL
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
TRAFFIC) ORDER (No.33) 2023 (Ref TTRO 9008)

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
The order is required to enable carriageway patching, surface dressing and associated maintenance works and will be operative from the 23 October 2023 for a maximum period of
18 months. The closures are anticipated to be for up to 5 days but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works.
It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 2 weeks prior to the closure dates.
Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
The closures are anticipated to take place between 23 October 2023 and 01 December 2023.

Schedule
1. Bells Lane, Zeals and Stourton with Gaspar; from its junction with C380 to its
junction with High Street.
2. Butts Lane, Kilmington; from its junction with New Road to its junction with Cokers
Lane.

Alternative routes (vice versa)
1. Via High Street – B3092 – C380.
2. Via Dukes Lane – Bradley Lane – New Road.

All works will be published on Wiltshire Council website https://one.network/public when confirmed dates are known.

Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust Home Security and Stay Safe Online Schemes

The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust provides a free home security and Stay Safe Online service for people O’60 and those aged 18+ with a registered disability living in Wiltshire.

The schemes are for those who have become or are at risk of becoming a victim of house crime, cybercrime, or domestic abuse.

If you are eligible and don’t feel that you have adequate home security or would like advice about staying safe whilst using your electronic devices/computer, please contact us to arrange a visit.
