GRASS CUTTING OF THE PLAYING FIELD

The Parish Council would like to hear from any contractors who may be interested in tendering for the 3 year grass cutting contract of their Playing Field in The Street.

Applications are required by Sunday 19 January 2025.

Wiltshire Police are interested in your views – please see the details below for the survey and other information on Neighbourhood Policing.

Kilmington comes under the Warminster, Westbury, Tisbury and Mere area and  Joe Sadowski is our newly appointed Police Sergeant.

 

ROAD CLOSURE C55 (PART) 28 OCTOBER TO 1 NOVEMBER 2024

In order for Wiltshire Council to carry out footway and associated works on the C55 from the Junction of Butts Lane to the Junction of Cote Lane, the road will be closed between the hour of 7.30 and 18.00 for 5 weekdays (28 October to 1 November).

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Gypsies & Travellers Development Plan

Wiltshire Council has published the draft Gypsies and Travellers Development Plan Document which sets out the vision and framework to allocate land for Gypsy and Traveller communities in Wiltshire.  Comments are invited during the consultation period which runs to 5pm on Friday 4th October.

The Gypsies and Travellers DPD and supporting evidence documents are available to view and download at https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/planning-gypsy-travellers  and people can also download a representation form and a simplified guidance note from this page.

CAR STOLEN IN KILMINGTON

CAR STOLEN FROM A DRIVE IN KILMINGTON

 

THE PARISH COUNCIL HAS BEEN INFORMED THAT A RESIDENT HAS RECENTLY HAD A CAR STOLEN FROM THE DRIVE OF THEIR HOME AND FOUND ABANDONED ON A ROAD NEAR FROME. THE CAR WAS LOCKED AND BEHIND A CLOSED GATE WITH THE THEFT OCCURING DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS.

PLEASE BE VIGILANT AND REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY TO THE POLICE ON LINE OR IF AN EMERGENCY DIAL 999.

Police and Crime Commissioner Election

On Thursday the 2nd of May 2024 there will be an election for the Police and Crime Commissioner for the Wiltshire police authority area, The police authority area includes Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council.

If you are not registered to vote you can register online at GOV.UK Register to vote(opens new window).

You do not need to register again if you have already done so. If you recently moved house or changed your name you should complete a new application.

Deadline for registering to vote – 16th April, Midnight

Deadline for postal vote – 17th April, 5pm

Deadline for proxy vote – 24th April, 5pm

Deadline to apply for voter authority certificate (if you have no photo ID) – 24th April, Midnight

Polling Day is the 2nd May form 7am until 10pm

Your Polling Station is The Home Guard Club, Kilmington Common.
